Getting a Manicure for men

What exactly is a men’s manicure? A manicure is not just for the ladies any more. Adding this simple task to your regular men’s grooming routine will not only help your hands look superior aesthetically, but it will also make them feel better. When your job demands heavy use of your hands, it is critical to avoid any hang nails or awkward nails that could get in your way. Adding in regular men’s manicures can help you avoid these annoyances. At its most basic level, a manicure for men entails filling down nails, softening the skin on the hands, and shaping the cuticles. These may not be words or actions you have often practices but we promise that it’s not nearly as complicated as it sounds. If you want you can even easily do it yourself at home with a men’s manicure set and these simple steps.

STEP1:- CUT THE NAIL

A manicure for men starts with cutting your nails with a nail clipper. Clip only the white part of the nail and try to perform only one clip per nail. Any extra clips around the nail could contribute to the creation of hang nails, so to avoid the discomfort we will use a file to smooth down the edges to create a cleaner look.

STEP 2:- FILE THE EDGES

Start by taking a nail file and gently file on one side of the nail to the other. Pretend as if the file is sanding back the nail. Use this action to round the top of the nail, stopping only when you feel the file starting to come into contact with your finger tip. It will be easy to get impatient and try to rush this, but take time to avoid disturbing the tips of your fingers.

STEP 3:-CUT THE EXTRA CUTICLE

For those of you that don’t  know, the cuticle is the often lighter area that bunches where your finger and toe nails meet your skin. Remove the extra cuticle with a cuticle clipper and not with your fingers. Ripping at loose cuticle can cause a jiggered look and will lead to bleeding, swelling and hang nails. If your cuticles are really out of shape start be using a cuticle stick to push them gently back towards the end of the finger nail.

STEP 4:- HYDRATE THE HANDS

Rinse your hands and apply a natural hand lotion for men. This will help soothe any dry skin and heal any nicks that occurred when performing your manicure.

Does all of this sound like a lot of work? We promise that it isn’t. If you’d rather not use a manicure set for men, you can always visit your nearest men’s grooming lounge to have youe men’s manicure done professionally.

STEP 5:- GETTING A PEDICURE FOR MEN:-

Similar to manicure, a men’s pedicure entails taking care of your nails, cuticles, and hydrating, but instead of the hands, we move south to the feet. Like a manicure, you can easily and cheaply do all of these things at home. For your feet, we suggest you splurge to get a professional pedicure for men. Generally, a professional pedicure for men is pretty awesome as it incorporates both a massage and swirling warm water jets. All in all, it’s worth whatever they charge you.

If you’re on your feet all day, you should consider getting pedicures monthly. Your feet will look, feel and smell better. A pedicure can help remove excess dead skin on the feet, reduce sore spots, and remove and prevent junky build up around the nails. If you’d rather perform one at home yourself, grab a men’s pedicure set and follow these steps:

1.Soak your feet in either your bath tub or a large bucket. This will start to soften the skin and allow you to more thoroughly treat them. We suggest pouring in some natural body wash for men to create an aromatic experience. Let your feet soak for 2 to 5 minutes.

2. Scrub your feet with a men’s scrub or foot file while still slightly wet. This will remove dead skin and build up on your feet. These are important to remove as any accumulation can start the growth of bacteria and fungus. This will also remove those painful calluses that build where your feet strike most.

3. Clip your toenails. Clip only the white part of the nail and perform only one clip per nail. Extra clips around the nail can create hang nails, and again we will use a file to smooth down the edges.

4.Take a nail file and gently start filing from one side of the nail to the other. Round the nail and stop once you feel the file coming into contact with the tip of your toe.

5.Cut any extra cuticle with a cuticle clipper and not with your fingers. Ripping at loose cuticle will cause bleeding, swelling, and hang nails. This can also lead to nasty infections. If your cuticles are really out of shape, use a cuticle stick to push them gently back towards the end of the toe nail.

6.Rinse your feet and apply a natural body lotion all over your toes and feet. This will help soothe any dry skin and heal any nicks that occurred when performing your pedicure.

In no uncertain terms, we highly suggest you get at least one professional pedicure for men in your lifetime. Why? Because they really are incredible and the professionals can reach areas you never could. Additionally, they truly are like a massage for your feet on steroids. Not only that, but your feet come out looking, smelling, and feeling great. Who knows, after only one visit you may even find yourself becoming a regular in the pedicure chair.
